Description

The Animal Classification Unit for homeschool includes 8 science lessons about Linnaean Classification. Following the last lesson, there are prompts to develop a final project to demonstrate the student’s learning. This science unit is appropriate for middle elementary grades with built-in flexibility to modify the difficulty level.

These homeschool lessons are designed

  • to be short and not overwhelming. You can combine lessons together or stretch lessons over multiple days as needed.
  • to serve a variety of learning styles: reading, visual, creative, drawing, hands-on learning, sensory input, discussion.
  • to encourage unique thinkers to demonstrate their understanding in unique ways. They are not designed to test for memorization of facts.
  • to use your own available resources to complete the pages. A list of recommended books, videos, and websites is provided.
